Join PyLadies Seoul's Monthly Book Club in 2025! 📚
What's a Monthly Book Club? We gather online on the first Wednesday evening of each month to share our thoughts about a selected book we've been reading together.
For our first book, we'll be reading "I Thought Everything Would Be Fine Once I Got Here" by Se-young Kwak, a seasoned developer with over 10 years of unique experience in Silicon Valley.

About the book: When we look at Silicon Valley, we often focus only on the theatrical behaviors of certain CEOs, and the media typically analyzes just the business models or leadership of successful startups. However, like any workplace, Silicon Valley companies are primarily made up of regular employees. How can we truly understand Silicon Valley without knowing what these employees think and how they live? This book shares the vivid experiences of the author, who was born and raised in Korea, lived abroad for many years, and then moved to Silicon Valley as a developer in her mid-thirties. What's the real Silicon Valley like from the perspective of a 10-year veteran developer, from remote work and flexible meetings to salary negotiations and layoffs? Let's discover the untold culture of Silicon Valley through this book. (Source: Kyobo Book Centre)
