As a fiscal sponsoree of the Python Software Foundation, PyLadies adheres to its Code of Conduct. The scope and contact information below have been adapted for PyLadies.

Our Community

The Python community values members who are "open, considerate, and respectful." Key community principles include:

Our Standards

Every community member deserves respect for their identity, regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, ethnicity, nationality, race, religion, education, or socio-economic status.

Unacceptable Behavior

Prohibited conduct includes:

• Harassment in any form.
• Intimidation, stalking, or following.
• Sharing private information without consent.
• Violent threats or language.
• Incitement of violence or self-harm.
• Sexual language, imagery, or unwelcome advances.
• Discriminatory jokes or insults based on stereotypes.
• Excessive swearing.
• Unwelcome physical contact.
• Disruption of community discussions or events.
• Continued contact after being asked to stop.

Weapons Policy

No weapons are permitted at PSF events, including explosives, firearms, large knives, or items designed to cause injury.

Consequences

Violations may result in warnings or expulsion from community events without refund, as outlined in enforcement procedures.

Scope

PyLadies Events

This Code of Conduct applies to staff, organizers, speakers, attendees, and all participants at PyLadies-hosted events in official venue spaces, including presentation rooms, hackathons, social areas, and related spaces.

It also covers interactions with official PyLadies social media accounts and event platforms. Each event must establish a Code of Conduct committee to receive and evaluate incident reports.

PyLadies Online Spaces

The Code of Conduct applies to PyLadies mailing lists, Slack organizations, GitHub repositories, discussion boards, and other administered online spaces. It covers admins, maintainers, contributors, and all community members.
